Asking brands for codes and samples
Brands on GearCred see who drives their sales. Here's how to turn that into a promo code or gear to try.

Sales come first
Brands say yes to creators who already sell their gear. A few posts with their products tagged, and some orders, make your request easy to approve.
Where to ask
Open Brands in the app, pick the brand and tap Request code or Request sample. Add a short note. You'll see the brand's answer in the app, and shipping updates for samples.
What to put in the note
- What you'd shoot and where: "a four-day trip in the Sawtooths in July."
- Why it fits your audience: "most of my followers car camp with kids."
- What's worked with their gear before, if anything has.
Pick a code people can spell
Short, all one word and easy to say out loud, so it works in a video as well as a caption. Your name or handle plus a number is a safe choice.
Follow through
When a sample arrives, use it on a real trip, post it and tag it. Brands remember who posted and who didn't when the next request comes in.
