When you're running a tripod as rear support, the smallest changes in pressure can shift your sight picture- and pinching your buttstock directly against a tripod leg can introduce bounce, inconsistency, and unwanted cant. Products in this category exist specifically to solve that problem by putting a compressible bag interface between the stock and the tripod. The Stock-Mounted Tripod Rear Bag is their rifle-mounted answer: a stock-side rear bag that attaches directly to your buttstock, so the support stays with the rifle- not the tripod.
