What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"The Troy Lee A3 MIPS is the helmet I recommend for all-mountain riders who want more coverage than a standard trail lid without strapping on a full face. The extended temple and base protection is a meaningful upgrade over something like the A2, and the MIPS layer handles the angled impacts that cause the most problems in a real crash. Sixteen vents keep airflow moving on long climbs, and the breakaway visor is a detail I appreciate more than most — it releases cleanly through a fall instead of torquing your neck.
