What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying: "I’ve worn this as my go-to softshell for shoulder-season hikes and breezy approaches. The WindWall fabric does a solid job cutting wind without feeling stiff, and the stretch makes it comfortable when I’m scrambling or moving fast. It layers easily over a light fleece and doesn’t overheat during active days, which makes it a reliable grab for variable weather." We reach for the Apex Bionic 3 Jacket when the forecast looks uncertain but the plan is set. Built by The North Face with a refreshed, more earth-friendly design, this softshell thrives on breezy ridgelines, cool trailheads, and long days that blur the line between town and trail.
