The St. Croix Imperial USA Switch Rod is the two-hander for anglers who are not ready to stop single-hand casting. A switch rod is a short spey rod 11 feet here instead of the 13 feet of a full spey blank and that length is the whole argument: long enough to sweep a head and swing a fly across a medium river with no backcast room behind you short enough to pick up and throw overhead with one hand when the run turns into a nymphing seam or a far bank that wants a streamer.
