In SRAM's chain hierarchy, only the PC-1051 and PC-1091 chains are made with corrosion-resistant nickel plating on both the inner and outer links. What's the difference between this PC-1051 and their top of the line PC-1091 then? Where the 1091 has hollow pins, the 1051 uses solid, chrome hardened pins at the link pivots. Sure it's not quite as light, but you'll save enough money to build your wheels with alloy nipples instead. And from a performance standpoint, you'll be money ahead.SRAM has done some subtle reshaping of their outer plates to make their chains run quieter.
