From Tackle Express
The Shimano Baitrunner D Series is built for anglers who fish live or cut bait and want more control between the cast and the hookset. Engage the rear Baitrunner lever to let a fish take line with the bail closed then turn the handle to bring the main drag into the fight. Stay Ready Between the Cast and the Bite The Baitrunner system gives your bait room to move naturally while keeping the reel ready for a fast transition. The adjustable rear free-spool drag lets you fine-tune how easily line leaves the spool without changing your main drag setting. Why Choose a Baitrunner Reel Baitrunner lever provides free-spool fishing with the bail closed.
