RPM Traxxas Sledge Front Bumper and Skid Plate. The RPM Front Bumper and Skid Plate for the Traxxas Sledge is a unique design that works with the Traxxas body mounting mechanism. Traxxas designed the body mounting system to move forward instead of rearward. Because it moves forward by well over 1" (25mm), it severely limits bumper design. However, RPM engineers found a way to incorporate a fully functioning bumper with the Traxxas body mounting system. RPM eliminated the stock bumper and replaced it with a hinge pin retainer, since realistically, that's all the stock bumper really is. Next, they eliminated the stock skid plate in favor of a wider, longer and more protective skid.
