From Trident Fly Fishing
The Redington Classic Spey Fly Reel is built for anglers who measure a day by the swing rather than the count. Two-handed fishing asks something specific of a reel: enough physical weight to balance a 12 or 13 foot rod enough capacity to carry a full head plus a few hundred feet of backing and a drag you can hear from the far bank when a steelhead finally eats. The Classic Spey answers all three in a mid-arbor high-decibel package built around a triple-pawl click system and it does it at a price that leaves budget for the rod and the line.DesignThis is a classically ported mid-arbor reel with a wide spool and each element of that description is doing work.
