From Fishermans Marine
New for 2018 the Penn Fathom II Level Wind reels make a number of improvements on the previous generation which was well received as one of the most durable and castable star-drag conventional reels in its class. The key addition in the Fathom II is Penn&';s Fast Gear Access Sideplate. Penn recognized that conventional reels are difficult to service and anglers often find themselves without a reel while it is at a shop or back at the factory for maintenance. The Fast Gear Access Sideplate was implemented with the intention of making self-servicing a more realistic option for many anglers. The sideplate on all Fathom II models is easily removed by removing 4 screws.
