From Backcountry
The Patagonia R1 Air Vest is the slim recycled fleece midlayer that earns its place in a layering system by doing one thing well: keeping our core warm on high-output days without turning into a heat trap when the pace picks up. The sleeveless cut keeps arm mobility unrestricted, and the jacquard construction stays flat under a shell from the trailhead to the summit. What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I wear this under a shell on the skintrack when I need core warmth but can't afford to overheat. The hollow-core yarns trap heat without adding bulk, so my arms stay free and the vest doesn't bunch under a jacket."
