If what you need is a lightweight streamlined no-frills rain jacket built for active use and versatility it&';s going to be the Motive AscentShell(TM) Jacket. We were able to make this layer so light by focusing on features made for performance without weight. The cuffs and hood use a cinched binding that creates a tight seal to keep weather and wind out and a 3-layer waterproof shell construction with mechanical stretch ensures you can move through whatever weather pattern is on the horizon.
