What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying: “This is the jacket I grab when weight, durability, and weather protection all matter. The abrasion resistance is legit, and the waterproof hood and shoulders make a big difference when conditions turn sketchy. It packs down small, layers well, and has earned a permanent spot in my alpine kit.” We bring the Helium Down Hooded Jacket whenever our plans lead us into exposed terrain and unpredictable weather. Designed by Outdoor Research for mountain adventures, this jacket delivers dependable warmth while standing up to rough rock, sharp gear, and changing conditions. It’s the layer we trust when protection and packability are equally important.
