What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying: "I took the Bug XT Bivy on a summer trip through the Sierra and loved how airy it felt. The dual-pole setup gives way more room than most bivies, and the mesh kept the bugs out without blocking the breeze. Super easy to get in and out of too." When we’re chasing warm-weather alpine nights, high-mileage trails, and campsites deep in the trees, we pack the Outdoor Research Bug XT Bivy to keep things cool and bite-free. This ultralight bug shelter gives us full protection from flying pests while letting the breeze and starlight in—perfect for bug-heavy terrain or as an inner bivy in fair weather.
