From Trident Fly Fishing
The Orvis PractiCaster Rod is a 36 inch practice tool rather than a fishing rod and that is the whole point of it. Casting faults do not get fixed in the ten minutes before a rise. They get fixed on a lawn on a carpet or in a hallway in February where you can watch a loop unroll instead of watching a fish refuse. The PractiCaster puts a full casting stroke in front of you at that scale: one piece 36 inches strung with its own bright green practice line and an orange practice fly with three fabric trout targets to aim at. There is no reel to mount no fly line to buy and no hook on the end so it goes to work the moment it comes out of the packaging.
