The Ortovox Downwool 180 Jacket blends 70% down with 30% alpine wool to solve a problem standard down insulation can't handle well: staying warm once moisture gets in. The wool absorbs that moisture and helps the down loft up to 30% more, so the jacket holds a steady warmth through strenuous climbs or a light rain instead of collapsing flat. A windproof, water-resistant recycled outer rounds out a jacket light and packable enough to wear under a shell or on its own, in any season in the mountains.
