From Backcountry
The Nike Free Metcon 7 training shoe pairs two densities of foam in one build. A firmer foam sits under the heel to keep the foot grounded through squats and deadlifts, while a softer, more flexible foam runs through the forefoot for the range of motion dynamic movement demands. Flex grooves in the outsole work with that forefoot foam so the shoe bends where the foot actually needs it to. What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I went straight from back squats into box jumps in the same session and never felt like I needed to change shoes, the heel stayed locked while the front end kept up with me."
