From Backcountry
Featuring quality cross-country performance at a fraction of the cost of the carbon versions, the Mavic Crossmax SL S 29in Boost Wheelset is one of our go-to wheels for cross-country riding. The lightweight aluminum alloy rim is exceptionally durable and keeps the weight in a considerable range as well. Thanks to the Instant Drive 360 freewheel, which uses a double ratchet system for fast engagement on the trails, we accelerate out of turns and up technical climbs without a second of lag. The 25mm inner diameter offers the best balance of efficiency and traction for cross-country riding, while the tubeless-ready setup and the ability to run up to 2.
