What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"This is my go-to shell for alpine layering in high-output conditions. It blocks wind like a fortress but breathes better than most softshells I've worn. Great stretch, smart pocket layout, and the hood fits over my helmet perfectly."From high-alpine ridgelines to wind-swept summit pushes, the Ultimate VIII SO Hooded Jacket gives us a serious edge against the elements. Mammut equipped this piece with GORE-TEX WINDSTOPPER® fabric backed by a breathable 3D moisture-wicking structure—delivering storm-worthy protection and ventilation in one alpine-tuned package.
