The Mako Model 9550 Inshore Fly Reel is the size most anglers land on when they buy into the Mako platform. Rated for 9 to 11 weight lines and holding better than 300 yards of backing behind a WF9 it covers the whole middle of serious saltwater fly fishing: tarpon permit roosterfish big jacks and striped bass. Everything Mako is known for is here without compromise a fully sealed carbon fiber drag a calibrated one-turn-stop knob a taper lock quick-change spool and a three ball bearing spindle assembly all machined to aerospace tolerances and hand calibrated before it ships. This is a reel bought once and fished for decades and it is priced accordingly.
