The objective also meets the need for a spill-free method of handling these samples and wastes which in many cases may not be able to be fully claved in a standard autoclave. A central bulb with smaller diameter throughout the orifice provides a handle that is easily grasped but which does not offer a full view of the sample. The smaller opening also provides a trap-style ground glass joint which eliminates the possibility of breakage from hand breakage during disassembly. For higher strength the heavy-threaded bail handle provides leverage for turning the sample inside out to prevent breakage.
