From Sea Bags
Originally named Tioga II before a name change in 1946, the 72-foot ketch, designed by L. Francis Herreshoff and built at the Quincy Adams Yacht Yard in Massachusetts, was launched in 1936. This nearly century-old sailboat lived two lives, first as an accomplished racing yacht. Known for its elegance and speed, Ticonderoga won 24 of her first 36 regattas up and down the eastern seaboard and at one time held over 30 course records. After a hull rebuild in 1967, Ticonderoga hung up the racing sails and began her second life as a luxury pleasure yacht. Ticonderoga still sails today, anchoring seasonally in Antigua and Greenwich, CT. We are making just 30 of these special bags.
