What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I have carried the Grivel Air Tech Evo T Ice Axe on everything from long glacier approaches to moderate technical terrain and it handles the full range without feeling like a compromise in either direction. The hot-forged steel head bites reliably in firm snow and ice, and the G-bone shaft gives excellent grip without the weight penalty you get from lesser aluminum construction. It is the axe I default to when the route description leaves room for interpretation."Some objectives are defined by the moment the terrain tips up and the axe comes off the pack.
