Forward Controls Design 4140 Billet Machined End Plate - No QD Socket Flat Dark Earth EPF Cerakote FDE. This is an end plate and does not have a QD swivel socket. Compared to a TDP spec 1018 or 1020 manganese phosphated MIM end plate EPF is several times more expensive. Machining an end plate out of a solid block of 4140 accounts for much of the cost the coating alone (DLC or Cerakote) is nearly 1/3 of the cost of the EPF. We can't black nitride it (and make it very difficult to stake) and manganese phosphate isn't as durable so we chose DLC and Cerakote. TDP end plate material is 1018 or 1020 mild steel which is adequate since it doesn't need to handle much load.
