From Orvis
Built for those just starting their fly fishing adventures, the Encounter Fly Rod series combines state-of-the-art rod design with smooth, crisp performance-packaged with a large-arbor Encounter reel (size II), weight-forward floating 6-wt. line, backing, leader, and rod/reel case. The Encounter rod outfit is easily the best value in its class. The 9' 6-weight offers extra distance and power for targeting larger trout and can handle heavier flies and streamers.
