What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I like this build for riders who want a pure climbing bike with a modern twist. The 1x XPLR setup keeps everything clean and quiet, and the wide gearing is perfect for long, steep days in the mountains. It still feels incredibly light under power, but the stability on descents really stands out compared to older super-light road bikes."We chase big climbs and quiet roads where every pedal stroke counts, and the Cervélo R5 Red XPLR eTap AXS Road Bike is built for exactly those days. It feels light and eager on the way up, encouraging a smooth cadence as the miles stack and the elevation adds up.
