Either they block airflow entirely and you're baking inside a plastic bag, or the mesh is so open that cold air finds its way through anyway. The Aria Shell 2 takes a different approach. The front and back use an ultralight woven windproof microfiber that shields against cold air while keeping weight to a minimum. The side panels and back-of-sleeve striped elastic mesh enhance breathability and keep the jacket close to the body, preventing fabric from flapping during pedaling.
