The Buck Knives 108 Compadre Froe is a substantial fixed-blade outdoor tool built for demanding work around camp, on the trail, and at a backcountry worksite. Its long cutting edge and forward-reaching profile make it suitable for clearing vegetation, chopping, splitting kindling, cleaving wood, and batoning when preparing firewood or camp materials. Unlike a compact belt knife intended primarily for detail work, the Compadre Froe provides the length and mass needed for heavier cutting while retaining an edge that can handle controlled, finer cuts when the task calls for more precision. The 9.5-inch drop-point blade is made from tough 5160 spring steel and measures 0.230 inch thick.
