From Backcountry
The Arva Race Carbon shovel trims every gram a race format allows. A carbon fiber shaft and a compact anodized aluminum blade keep the shovel light and small enough to fit inside a race pack without stealing room from other gear. The blade holds up in heavy, compacted snow despite its reduced size, so the weight savings don't come at the cost of digging performance. What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I've assembled this shovel with frozen mitts on and never fumbled the pin. The T-handle locks into place with one motion, so I'm digging within seconds instead of wrestling with a shaft."
