From Backcountry
The Altra Lone Peak 9 Wide lands with meaningful updates from the prior version. The upper is reengineered with no-sew overlays, and the EGO midsole foam runs lighter with a closer feel underfoot. The reworked MaxTrac outsole bites into loose dirt and rock more aggressively, while the wide last gives the forefoot room to splay on descents without loosening the heel fit. What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"Altra's FootShape is already pretty wide, but the even wider last gives my forefoot room to splay naturally on long descents, which is where narrow shoes start to cause problems. The MaxTrac outsole bites into loose dirt and root-covered trail regardless of pace."
