From Backcountry
The Altra Lone Peak 9+ GTX is the choice when the trail is wet and the terrain is technical, a combination that usually forces a compromise between waterproofing and grip, but not here. The GORE-TEX Invisible Fit upper seals out water without the stiff feel that waterproof membranes sometimes add, while the Vibram Megagrip outsole bites into wet rock and slick roots where a standard rubber compound would skate. The EGO midsole and Original FootShape toe box work together to keep the foot in its natural position through long miles, whether the day is a trail run or a loaded thru-hiking stretch.
